The story
begins on the day the little princess came into the
world, the
day she received from her parents a very special gift
from God -
her first kiss. Because the gift was so precious, her
parents took care of the gift while their daughter
grew up,
saving it for when she was old enough to keep it in her own
care. Thus, when the princess was grown, she was presented
her kiss (represented as a glowing light kept safe in a glass
dome) to decide to keep it to herself always or to give away as
she saw fit.
Multiple
suitors for the princess came and went - Prince Peacock, Prince
Romance, Prince Treasurechest - but none of them seemed worthy
of her kiss. Though she grew worried of ever finding a
husband, she kept close to heart the words her father told her,
"save your kiss for the man you will marry. Never part
with it for the sake of a stranger."
Finally, a common man came to the castle to see the princess.
He was strong and handsome, humble and a hard worker. And
above all this, the princess was struck by the kindness and
sincerity in his eyes and manner. He explained that he had
worked in the palace fields for years, praying and waiting to
find a woman to be his wife. One day, he saw her walking on the
palace lawn, and he was struck with her beauty and her purity.
He said that he did not have much to give her - no gold, nor
means to travel the world - but he did have one thing... his
kiss. He had been saving it all of his life, for her.
There was no doubt in the princess's mind that indeed he too was
the one she had been waiting for.
We offer you this story because we believe we are all children
at heart and we all can learn from this tale. We encourage
you all to think about this , engage your imagination (no matter
how old you are, your childhood imagination is still there, we
guarantee it!), put yourself in the story and see what it is
like to hold that light of purity close to your heart, to
treasure it, to feel its warmth, to see the beauty it gives you.
Then imagine the bliss you had when you finally found the one
you wanted to give that kiss to, and imagine the excitement and
the joy of giving him that gift when you became husband and
wife.
